Position Areas of Practice Bar Admissions

Mary K. Counsel has been practicing law since 1998.  A graduate of University of Wyoming College of Law and Colorado State University, Mary focuses her practice in the areas of estate planning, general business and probate.

It is the breadth of her life experiences that Mary believes makes her a good communicator, listener and counselor at law.  Prior to law Mary worked in commercial construction and the healthcare industry.  Her interest is in problem-solving and conflict resolution.  To that end Mary has received training in mediation and collaborative law, a method of conflict resolution wherein parties commit to find a solution to their dispute outside the courtroom.

Mary has also engaged in teaching and writing.  She has taught classes and authored articles on estate planning as well as conducted training for attorneys, mediators and other professional in the collaborative law process.  Mary is a member of the Colorado Bar Association, past Vice President and Co-President of Colorado Collaborative Law Professionals, founder and past Chair of Northern Colorado Collaborative Family Law and past President of Christian Legal Society of Northern Colorado.

Mary joined Hagen & Melusky Law Offices in September of 2005.
